Event comments

You can access the walk box on the inns side porch without disturbing the owner. If there are diners breakfasting on the side porch, please take the box off the porch to do your paperwork. The inn is a lovely B&B if you happen to be staying in the area overnight.

Event information

The core of this route is a 6K loop that goes past farms and B&Bs, through a small residential neighborhood, and crosses Little Chiques Creek twice via historic covered bridges. You will be walking on rural country roads that arent heavily trafficked, but there will be car traffic. Theres some very pretty farmland scenery. There are sections with tree cover and sections besides fields that are open and exposed, so if you walk in the heat please wear sun protection. The 12K route adds on another section of country roads past more scenic farms.

Driving to the start box

127 E Main St, Mount Joy, PA 17552 (PA-230). Refer to the Mount Joy Six Parks and a Cemetery walk (Y0505) for directions to start location. The walk box is kept on the side porch. After registering, you must drive approximately 3 miles to the start. Directions will be in the box.
