THIS IS A "MAIL IN WALK". This route was formerly sponsored by the Sherwood Merrywalkers. The Black File Walk Start Box is behind the Customer Service Counter, you will need to ask for "the Walk Box" from one of the Starbucks Barista's. HEDGES CREEK WETLANDS WALK - The route travels on sidewalks, a boardwalk and asphalt & gravel pathways. Follow walkways through the Hedges Creek Wetlands on your way to discover the Tualatin Heritage Center (previously a Methodist Pioneer Church and one of Tualatin's oldest cultural resources). You will pass by the Tualatin Country Club & Golf Course where you may have to peek through the shrubbery to get a good look at it. Explore Jurgens Park by the Tualatin River. Walk through Winona Cemetery, a pioneer cemetery, where the great great grandson of Daniel Boone is buried. Pass by four of the oldest remaining homes of the original city of Tualatin, walk a trail by the river in Tualatin City Park and walk around the lake at Tualatin Commons to finish.

Route travels on a boardwalk, on asphalt & gravel pathways, and on sidewalks. You will walk through wetlands, past original Tualatin's 4 oldest homes; thru some nice parks, and you will walk around the Lake at Tualatin Commons.

Driving to the start box

8639 SW Tualatin-Sherwood Rd., Tualatin 97062, 503-691-9448. I-5 North or Southbound, take I-5 Exit 289. N turns left & S turns right at end of exit ramp to continue .5 miles to Tualatin-Sherwood Rd. After crossing Boones Ferry Rd., turn right into Hedges Green shopping center and to the Starbucks Store. The black file walk start box is behind the customer service counter. You need to ask for "the Walk Box" from one of the Starbucks Barista's. Store Hours: Mon-Fri 5:30am to 7:00pm, Sat 6:30am to 7:00pm & Sun 7:00am to 6:00pm.
