Event information

Easy beautiful Florida walk. Begins in a small city park (Ferry Park). 10K continues along Bud & Dorie Day Walkway, on thru residential areas, passing Historical Indian Mound, an old schoolhouse, and Ft. Walton Landing (waterfront park). You will pass one of the most interesting McDonald's anywhere, filled with the best McD's historical memorabilia in the country. Be sure to go in and look around. Restaurants and restrooms are available along route. Restroom at start of walk in the park is not always unlocked. Public restroom on 10K also. 5K circles same park and veers off into $$ neighborhood for a major portion of the walk.

Driving to the start box

Miracle Strip Pkwy (US Hwy 98) Okaloosa Island is between Marler Bridge on East, Brooks Bridge, Ft. Walton Bch on West. Island is approximately 5 miles long. A blue and white Visitor's sign marks driveway on Gulf side. A smaller sign marks Visitor's Center on westbound lane. Ask for Volksmarch Box, which is kept behind/below the staffed counter. Drive to Ferry Park to start walk. Directions included on instructions. Club Emergency #: 850-628-4016.
