Description: Daily, dawn to dusk. This route is mostly along the river, taking in the newest portion of the Waterfront Trail, which was finished in the fall of 2012, to the Alderbrook neighborhood (with a city park) at the east end of Astoria. Water Tower is visible on the hill in the distance just before you exit the rail trail into the natural area, just beneath the cell phone tower.

Location: Astoria Full Fitness Center
Start Point / Driving Directions: 3975 Abbey Lane. US30 to Astoria. North (toward the river) on 39th Street for one block. Right onto Abbey Lane. Right at the first driveway all the way to the end. Wooden file cabinet located left of the counter at the end under the table. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., 7 days. Closed New Year's Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. Hours for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Register here and drive to start.

Comments: Restrooms and water at registration point. The old Astoria City Hall building, now the Heritage Museum, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as is the Lightship Columbia located at the Maritime Museum and the old firehouse (now a museum).
