Description: It is an "out and back" trail. 6.2 miles from the Peter Norbeck Outdoor Education Center, up to Grace Coolidge Walk-in Fishing Area and back to the Start Point on the same trail. The first 1.5 miles is a paved trail. The second 1.5 miles enters into the Grace Coolidge Walk-in Fishing Area with several creek wooden plank crossings. Return trip - the same trail. A trail map available at PNVC. The trail is marked with yellow carsonite posts. Buffalo are dangerous and may be in the area. Maintain a distance of 100 yards from all wildlife. Bring your own water. Restrooms are available at the Start Point and along the trail at the Park Office and the Grace Coolidge Campground. Feet will get wet. Water shoes or sandals recommended.

Start Point / Driving Directions: 605-255-4464. Located on Hwy 16A near the State Game Lodge. From Rapid City take Hwy 79 south to Hwy 36 and follow to the park's entrance gate. Continue west on Hwy 16A for 3 miles to the Peter Norbeck Visitor Center. May 21 - August 31; 8am - 8pm, September 1 - September 30; 8am - 6pm.
