This event qualifies for the Pennsylvania State Parks & Forests Challenge. The rhododendrons at the park typically are in full bloom in early July.****Note that there is also a seasonal swim here from Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekends.*****We recommend that you purchase a picnic lunch at Rutter's and eat it at the park.

Event information

Rutters is open 7x24. After registering, you must drive about 2 miles to Caledonia State Park. There are two 5K trails. Either trail may be done for 5K credit; both trails must be done for 10K credit. The "Valley Trail" is rated 1C and goes through the historic part of the park. About 2K of this trail has lots of rocks and tree roots making it unsuitable for wheelchairs and strollers. The "Campground Trail is new for 2017 and is rated 2B. A section of this trail has stairs and one bridge has steps making this trail unsuitable for wheelchairs and strollers..
