Event information

The Shoreline Interurban Trail is the main focus of this walk, covering the City of Shoreline from it's north and south borders. Walk the Interurban trail while seeing various works of art. This trail was originally cleared in 1910 and used as an electric train connection from Everett to Tacoma, for the next 30 years. Enjoy local neighborhoods, parks, sport fields, elementary schools. and the Shoreline Athletic Center. Return back to the start point by passing Echo Lake on Ashworth and N 200th St. Echo Lake Park use to be a popular "bathing beach" originally opened to the public from 1916-1966. In the early days, it cost a nickel to get in. Some kids would spend this on candy and sneak in instead. In the winter, the lake was also used for ice-skaing. Enjoy the history as you walk! (historical facts are provided courtesy of HistoryLink.org). Restrooms are available at the start and at the tennis courts on 190th and 1st Ave. Paved trails and two bridges over main arterial streets, stairs and/or ramps to cross bridges. One gradual hill up on Interurban Trail and one hill down thru Shoreline neighborhood. Two 6k options. Challenges include ESVA Restaurants: Thai, American. Oregon Challenge Books A-Z are accepted.

Awards: IVV CREDIT ONLY
