Furman Universitys walk is on its 750 acre campus with miles of walking paths through its almost 200 year old campus. It has a beautiful lake with graceful swans swimming peacefully while people of all ages and athletic abilities stroll around it. A replica of the cabin that Henry David Thoreau lived in while writing his masterpiece, Walden, is by the lake. The campus also has an amphitheater that hosts music performances and movies for students and locals alike. You will enjoy the beautiful landscaping, the Buddhist temple above the Asia garden, the rose garden, reflection ponds and several breathtaking fountains. And, you will also experience a part of the Swamp Rabbit Trail which connects the beautiful town of Travelers Rest with Greenville . Dont miss this treasure of the South!
